For our flower shop, we are immediately seeking a team leader for 32 to 40 hours per week (number of hours is negotiable).

Van der Maarel Eventstyling has been active both nationally and internationally for over 70 years in the field of furniture rental, exclusive plants, and the sale of floral decorations for events. We are proud of the many events we have to our name, such as: Night of the Proms, L’Oreal Hair Fashion Night, Volvo Ocean Race, and festivals like Parookaville, Tomorrowland, Zand, and many more.

Purpose of the role:

As the leader of our Floral Workshop, you are the creative brain behind the development and execution of all assignments and are simultaneously responsible for the entire process: purchasing, planning, (creative) preparation, and (ensuring) execution of tasks related to flower and plant decorations. In this role, you will work about 70% behind the computer. An entrepreneurial mentality is an absolute must.

 

Detailed responsibilities:

• Purchasing and inventory management of all materials, including depreciation;
• Guiding, coordinating, and advising colleagues, as well as temporarily hired florists, on small creations to creative overall concepts for all events;
• Responsible for the final result of all floral work;
• All other administrative tasks;
• Proactively handling daily activities such as keeping the workspace clean, setting flowers and plants in water, and picking up orders.

 

Job requirements:

• Completed MBO+ Flower Design education or equivalent through experience;
• At least 1 year of demonstrable experience (expertise, both technical and creative, and in purchasing and leadership) within a flower shop or (floral) decoration company;
• Computer proficient: knowledge of Office. Experience with CRM and working with a rental administration program like CCM is a plus;
• A flexible attitude towards working hours: you understand that you work more hours during busy times to get the job done;
• Good command of the Dutch language in word and writing;
• Possession of a driver's license B.
